It depends on the bookstore. My partner works at Borders and she got me some old cover ones by checking if they still had them at the warehouse.
So--is anyone else irritated at the change? I have two of Kit's books from the last version, and one of Molly's (the other books we've read at the library). Since dd is getting Kit, and I just got the Christmas dress (thanks AG specials!), I decided to get Kit's Surprise for her as well, but I want it to be the old cover. . . . There is a used bookstore here which has lots of AG books, so I'll go look. They aren't cheap though. . . .
I wonder if bookstores would still have the old ones or if they have to replace them? I'll look.
Also--any of you near the outlet? I would think that they would carry the old ones.
I like those covers more, but I'm sure we are just all creatures of habit. . . .

I was only annoyed when they changed from the the white covers to the newer ones, lol. But I acutally like the newest covers , they are so glossy and colorful.
I actually liked the book covers where it was outlined in the American girls "color" Like Kit's was green. I do not like the new book covers they have now. And I don't personally care for the book titles they gave Kaya! They should keep it original.
I like that the new ones are so bright and colorful, but i don't like that they changed some of the actual pictures. Molly's meet book, for instance, should still show her wearing her meet outfit instaed of her hula outfit. what were they thinking.

I guess I don't mind. We have all of Kit's with the same cover, and Josefina's entire collection as the hardback version. DD has two white Molly books, one blue, and the first green Meet Felicity book.
It's almost like having a visual progression of AG history in her book sets.
I personally HATE most of the new covers..its so confusing! before the corresponding outfit, funiture, etc, etc, was on the cover of each book and made the items more special... now its like any old photo. grrrrrrr [img]graemlins/grrr.gif[/img]
So, I stopped by that used book store when I dropped dd off for Christmas practice at church, and they only had 2 Kit books, but they did have Kit's Surprise with her Christmas dress. I think that dd will like that.
Irishangel--those are the covers I have--the off-white, with the green spine.
But, I guess I don't care, and I know that dd doesn't care. . . .
They actually had many of the "old" (orginal) books. I'm going to make a separate post about some Josefina books that someone might want.
I know, I have just one book each to get from Kaya, Josefina, and Kit's series, and now they're all from the older version! I can't have just one new version and five old versions! I have to keep checking the used bookstores. [img]graemlins/whatever.gif[/img]
I don't like the new covers, either! I don't like how they are using illustrations from the inside on the cover. I know they're trying to make the books look more exciting and appealing to readers, but if I really want to see that picture, I can just find it inside the book! I like having a completely different cover pic.
